Zoo Trip for Spanish Students

calendar

On 16th June, Newquay Tretherras took a group of 34 excited Year 7 Spanish students to Newquay Zoo where they developed their use of the language.

The group were given two talks in Spanish, the first about conservation and the importance of languages for zookeepers when visiting South America, and the second talk involved meeting an African Python.

Tretherras Languages teacher, Ms Jeffery said, “The students all enjoyed themselves and made the most of the opportunity to improve their Spanish vocabulary whilst learning about endangered species at the Zoo. Their conduct and behaviour was impeccable and they were a great credit to the school.”

She continued, “We are very grateful to Newquay Zoo for providing the wonderful workshops, which provide a unique and alternative way to learn languages!”
