Tretherras Young Enterprise Sell Out

As part of the Young Enterprise Company Programme, Tretherras students took part in the Christmas Trade fair held in Lemon Street Market, Truro, Sunday the 15th December 2013.

The first of three fayre to be held over the next 12 months the student showcase their product – the Lazy Gardener. The nifty idea of a pre-packed pair bulb in biodegradable material that can either be planted very quickly, or just placed on the ground, impress the judges.

Within the first 3 minutes of trading, the students were off to a flying start and had already broken even! The students were constantly engaged with customers throughout the event and made plenty of sales. The students continued to trade with minutes to spare before selling their last remaining Lazy Gardener box.

After the initial 2 hours, the judges made their decisions and awarded the students with the “Customer Care” award, for their outstanding customer service and engagement. The students were also crowned runners up, missing out on winning the trade fair by only 2 marks.

Mr. Anthony Lawrence, who co-ordinates the Young Enterprise scheme at Newquay Tretherras commented, “Prior to the trade fair, the Tretherras students had been anticipated a good response from customers but were amazed that they sold out and returned with two awards and a healthy profit.”
