On 6th February, Year 13 drama students took a trip to Stratford, the birthplace of Shakespeare, to immerse themselves in a day of theatre.
The group participated in a workshop with the Royal Shakespeare Company and watched a dynamic performance of “The Taming of the Shrew’. Afterwards, there was a Q&A session with the actors before the students were able to go on to the stage and recreate a scene from the play.
Jake Shuttleworth, one of the participating students said, “I really enjoyed the trip and seeing the Royal Shakespeare Company building was an amazing experience. I will be able to take everything that I learnt in the acting sessions and apply it to my practical exam which is fantastic.”
Mrs. Catherine Halford, Head of Drama commented, “Watching the Royal Shakespeare Company is always a fantastic experience for anyone interested in performance art. The opportunity for Tretherras Students to work with actors and extended their learning has been priceless. I am very pleased with the way Tretherras students engaged and learnt from the experience.”
