PTA Craft Fayre Raises Funds for School

The Newquay Tretherras Parent Teacher Association held its Annual Christmas Craft Fayre and Indoor Table Top Car Boot on 18th & 19th of November.

The festive weekend event hosts one of the biggest craft fayres in the county and raises funds to support clubs, trips and activities at Newquay Tretherras Academy. Local craft makers and artisans from all over Cornwall were in attendance providing beautiful handmade gifts and delicacies.

The PTA Craft Fayre is extremely popular and tables are booked a year in advance. Newquay Tretherras staff support to set up and run the event and it is estimated that the PTA weekend raised approximately £4300 so far.

Mr. Richard Higginson Senior Assistant Headteacher, who coordinates the PTA weekend commented, ‘We have had a very successful weekend as the popularity of the Craft Fayre and the Indoor Table Top Sale continue to grow. It is fantastic to see Newquay Tretherras and the community working so well together and raising an incredible amount of money to support the school.’

The PTA will now prepare to receive bids from the school’s departments and begin the process of allocating the raised funds.

Mr Higginson added, “I would like to thank all staff that came along to help. Special thanks to Mrs Julia Humphreys and Ms Carley Barber who were there all weekend”.
