Newquay Tretherras Art Exhibition

The annual Newquay Tretherras Art Exhibition opened on 2nd July and showcased original works across a range of disciplines that included photography, fine art, sculpture and film.
Following on from their success at the Art8 festival, the Tretherras Art show displayed varied and bright collections of work, including winning pieces from the Falmouth CreatED Art Exhibition.
GCSE Art, A level Art and Photography students at the academy demonstrated a balance of traditional drawings, large scale paintings, sculptures, mixed media reliefs and works that use the latest digital technology found in high-end digital medial pieces and photography.

Mr Phil Strugnell, Head of Art at Newquay Tretherras commented, ”The communication of ideas and concepts in the supporting preparatory work by the students is of such a high standard. It is no wonder we have had such success in other exhibitions and the final pieces are so breath taking.”

Mr Strugnell added, “A huge thank you to the Tretherras Art department, who have relentlessly supported the students throughout the year in all the exhibitions we have been involved in.”

The Tretherras Art Exhibition is at the Newquay Sports Centre and runs up to 10th July, 9am – 10pm weekdays, 9am – 4pm weekends. Entrance is free and well worth a visit.
