GCSE History

We consulted with students in Year 9 to find out what topics they would find most interesting at KS 4 and decided upon the OCR Modern World specification that covers Crime and Punishment Through Time, History Around Us, Nazi Germany depth study and a study of Crime and Punishment in the UK in the Nineteenth Century.

The new specification allows us a great amount of flexibility in how we both teach and assess each unit and allows us to match the content to the needs of students. One coursework task is completed at the end of Year 10 and the final examination takes the format of two written papers. Experience tells us that this approach to GCSE is fast-paced and demanding and suits the interests of almost all students.
