Student Digital Leaders at Newquay Tretherras have been successful in acquiring funding for the purchase of Lego Mindstorm kits, to aid in their efforts of developing and supporting technology at the school.
The kits contain software and hardware to create customizable, programmable robots, for use of students who have an interest in a career in Computing, Science or Engineering.
The project was part-funded by the NT Board of Directors after the Digital Leaders approached them with a proposal describing how the equipment would have a positive impact in school.
Mr Mike Bartaby, Teacher of Computing at Tretherras said, “The students really came together on this project and were very proud in realising that they can make a difference to the school. We can’t wait to share the technology with students and think they will really love the Mindstorms.”
