Over the last two weeks, Newquay Tretherras’ cooking competition NT Chef has seen intense semi-final heats in which pupils were asked to create a vegetarian dish.
Ten students competed over the two semi-final rounds with only half of these now progressing in to the final, taking place on Tuesday 10th June at 3pm.
Three of the winning semi-finalists, Danielle Burns, Althea Read and Megan Selkirk, all created a variation of a curry whilst Lily-Rose Jeffery baked a blue cheese & broccoli soufflé and Will Nicholls made a mushroom stroganoff.
Dave Nicholls, NT Chef organiser said, “I’ve been blown away by the level of food that our students have managed to put together throughout the competition.”
Year 10 competitor, Megan Selkirk commented, “I’m really pleased about getting through to the final as I doubted that my curry was good enough. Also, it’s nice to have the chance to be creative in something I really enjoy doing.”
