Year 11 Expectations Evening
We are pleased to invite you to a very important evening for Year 11 parents on Wednesday 4th October from 6:00pm – 7:15pm. As we are sure you are aware, this year is an important one for your sons and daughters. At the evening we will be giving out essential advice on Key dates and expectations
There will be a short talk by myself and Mr Higginson (Senior Assistant Headteacher) from 6.00pm-6.15 pm in the senior hall.
After this we would like to offer three voluntary workshops that you can attend on the following: -
|Main School Hall||B3||B4||B5||B14|
|6.20pm-6.35pm||English- how to be successful in their English||Higher Education – next steps||Study Skills||Boy friendly strategies|
|6.40pm-6.55pm||Maths- how to maximise potential||Higher Education – next steps||Boy friendly strategies||Coping with exam stress and anxiety|
|7pm-7.15pm||Science- how to succeed in Science||Higher Education – next steps||Study Skills||Coping with exam stress and anxiety|
Please have an idea of which workshops you would like to attend. All presentations will be available on the Newquay Tretherras website after the evening, if you want to look at details of other workshops.
In view of the significance of this year and the amount of work each student will be expected to undertake, it is really important that all parents encourage their sons and daughters to foster good study habits and plan and organise their time effectively. We would also be grateful if parents would refrain from booking holidays during school term time – as a school we are not permitted to authorise holiday absence except in exceptional circumstances. Good attendance is vital to examination success.
We look forward very much to seeing you on 4th October and would be grateful if you could return the reply slip below to your son/daughter’s Form Tutor, as soon as possible.
